The Health and Performance Academy was created with the ultimate aim of improving the quality of life of the individuals we work with, through various means.

We aim to empower the individuals we work with with the appropriate knowledge, understanding and capabilities to take control of the area(s) of their life they are struggling in. Whether it be pain and injury, poor lifestyle choices, or reduced sporting performance.

Despite our many different services, the overarching aim of each of these services is to help you meet your goals and live the life you want to live, pain-free and in the best shape possible.

We believe that the best quality scientific information should be easily accessible to and digestible for the general population.

In the current age of social media there is such an abundance of information, it can be difficult to tell fact from fiction.

If you are not in a position to work with us due to financial reasons or otherwise, worry not as we will provide regular free and evidence-based education in the format of blog posts, emails, and social media posts.

JAMES GREENE

HEAD OF COACHING

James has always been passionate about helping individuals improve their health and quality of life, through an integrated approach of injury management, lifestyle improvement and patient empowerment. This passion primarily stems from an unhealthy childhood and adolescence, multiple injuries which limited his ability to play sport, and seeing first hand the impact that chronic illness can have on the quality of life of those suffering.

James graduated from Athletic Therapy and Training in Dublin City University (DCU) with a 1.1 degree. Completing this course requires a minimum 500 hours of clinical placement across a variety of settings, ranging from local GAA teams to elite level athletes in Purdue University. This course requires an in-depth knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, injury assessment and diagnosis, physiology and much more. Upon completion of this course and becoming a Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT), you are qualified to work across a variety of settings included, but not limited to: physiotherapy private practice, elite sports teams, and chronic illness populations.

Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, James attended Trinity College Dublin to complete a Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine to further continue his education in this field. James received the inaugural Moira O'Brien award for finishing first in his class in this degree, which prepared him further for working with a wide variety of populations, from athletes to those who are chronically ill.

Since completing his Masters, James has worked in multiple settings, including:

Higher level education in both Trinity and DCU as an assistant lecturer, private physiotherapy practice, with intercounty GAA teams as an Athletic Therapist, as a Strength and Conditioning coach in public and gym settings, and content creation online.

Currently, James is working full-time in Dublin where his client base is a combination of injury rehabilitation and personal training. He deals with a wide variety of clients and injuries on a daily basis, all with the one goal of empowerment and improving their overall wellbeing.

His goal is to continue helping his in-person clients and help as many people as possible find a love for lifelong physical fitness.

Along with this, he aims to continue to publish regular online content on both this website and his Instagram and TikTok platforms, with the aim of improving education levels and helping those who may not be able to work with him in person.
